2 Million Copies of Quran Printed in Iran in One Year

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Some 2 million copies of the Quran were printed in Iran in the last Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, an official said.

 

Mehdi Qarasheikhlu, head of the Dar-ol-Quran Karim Organization told IQNA that a total of 209 permissions were issued for publishing Quran in the year 1396 (March 21, 2017- March 20, 2018).

He added that 1.9 million copies of the Holy Book were printed by different publishers in that year.

According to the official, the number of Quran copies printed in the year 1395 stood at 2.6 million.

The Dar-ol-Quran Kareem Organization is affiliated to Iran’s Islamic Development Organization.

It oversees Quranic activities and grants permissions for publication of the Quran in the country.
